Terms of Service

Effective September 14, 2026 · Last updated September 24, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Healthcare Henry LLC(“we”), covering your use of Lacey. Using the product means you accept them. There are two sections we would ask you to read even if you skip the rest — the one about medical advice, and the one about your responsibility to get consent before recording. Everything else protects us; those two protect you.

Lacey is not a doctor, and not an emergency service

Nothing in Lacey— no summary, no suggested question, no explanation of a term — is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It is a record of a conversation and an aid to understanding it. Never substitute it for your clinician's instructions, and never delay seeking care because of something it said. If this is an emergency, stop and call 911 or your local emergency number.

1. What the product does

Lacey carries live audio from a medical appointment to people you invite, captures a text transcript of that conversation, and uses AI to write a plain-language summary of it. It is a tool for listening and remembering. It does not interpret, advise or decide anything.

2. The transcript and the summary will contain errors

We would rather you expect this than discover it. Speech recognition mishears medical terms constantly — drug names especially. The AI then writes a summary from that imperfect text, and AI systems sometimes state things confidently and wrongly.

Treat every summary as a helpful reminder to be checked, never as the authoritative account of what your clinician said.

Where the summary changes a word it believes was misheard, it shows you both versions so you can judge. Before acting on anything concerning a medication, a dose or a diagnosis, confirm it with the clinician's office. We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of an inaccurate transcript or summary.

This is the obligation most likely to matter to you, so it is stated directly: you are responsible for having the legal right to record any conversation you record with Lacey. Not us.

In many U.S. states, every party to a private conversation must consent to it being recorded, and recording without that consent can be a crime as well as a civil wrong. Separately, a clinic may forbid recording as a matter of its own policy, whatever the law in that state permits.

  • You agree to obtain whatever consent the law of your state requires before recording.
  • You agree to tell everyone in the room, out loud, that the visit is being recorded and that people are listening remotely.
  • You agree to stop recording immediately if anyone present objects.
  • You will not use Lacey to record anyone covertly, for any reason.

We built a plain-English guide to recording consent including which states require everyone's permission. Please read it before your first visit.

4. Who may use it

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract. You are responsible for what happens under your login, so keep it to yourself.

If you create a record about another person — a parent, a spouse, a child — you confirm you have the authority or their permission to do so. In co-parent mode, you confirm you are a parent or legal guardian of the child concerned.

5. Your record belongs to you

You own everything you put into Lacey and everything it produces for you. You grant us only the narrow permission needed to run the service — to store your record, transmit it to the people you invited, and process it to generate your summary. That permission ends when you delete the content.

We will not use your health information to train AI models, sell it, or show you advertising. Ever. If that ever changes, it will not change for records created under these terms.

What we will not do to your records

We will not lock, hide or delete a summary because you stopped paying. If you cancel, you keep every summary, and you get 30 days to download your transcripts. For six months after that we hold the transcripts in an archive no account can read, so that subscribing again restores them to you automatically; at six months they are destroyed. A paywall may stop you starting a new visit; it will never hold a record you already have.

6. Plans and billing

The free visit

Every account gets one complete visit at no cost — recording, transcript, summary, and up to two people listening. It does not expire. That free visit is per person, counted across every record you own, so adding another family member does not add another free visit.

Subscription — co-parenting records

  • A co-parenting record is billed as one relationship: two named parents, and every child the two of you share. It is $12.99 per month, or $129 if you pay for a year in advance.
  • That one price covers both parents. Neither of you is billed separately, and either of you can be the one who pays.
  • Anyone else on the record — a grandparent, a new partner, a lawyer — is free, and there is no limit on how many there are.
  • Children you have with a different other parent are a separate record and a separate subscription at the same price.
  • Cancelling one record does not cancel any other record you hold, and does not require removing the other parent first.

Subscription — family records

  • A family record is billed per person: $9.99 per month for unlimited visits, covering everyone you look after, with you plus two other people included.
  • Each person after that is $4.99 per month. A person is counted once, whatever they are to you: someone whose record you keep and who also watches yours is one person on your bill, not two.
  • You are billed for the people you bring. Someone else's people never appear on your bill, and if they stop paying, the people you brought stay where they are.
  • If you already hold a seat on someone else's account, your own subscription is $6.99 per month for as long as that remains true.
  • People on your co-parenting records are never counted on a family bill. You are not charged twice for the same person.

Subscriptions renew until cancelled — monthly, or annually where you chose that — charged to your payment method on the renewal date.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel any time from the app; it takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not pro-rate partial months or partial years. If you cancel in your first 30 days and tell us the product did not do what we said it would, we will refund you — including an annual payment. We would rather return the money than keep it from someone we failed.

We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

Beta status

Lacey is in private beta and payment processing is not yet connected. Nothing is charged today. When billing goes live you will be told before any charge is made, and nobody will be charged for a period that has already passed.

7. Things you agree not to do

  • Record anyone without the consent the law requires.
  • Use the product to harass, intimidate or surveil another person — including a co-parent.
  • Upload anything unlawful, or anyone else's data without their permission.
  • Attempt to reach another account's records, probe our systems, or disrupt the service.
  • Resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.
  • Present a transcript as a complete or certified record of a visit — see below.

Co-parent mode makes transcripts immutable so that neither parent can quietly edit history. That is a fairness feature between the two of you. It is not a chain-of-custody guarantee, Lacey is not a certified transcription service, and we make no promise that any transcript is complete, accurate or admissible in any proceeding.

If you intend to rely on a record in a legal matter, talk to your lawyer, and be aware that a recording made without the consent your state requires may be inadmissible and may expose you to liability.

9. Availability

We work to keep Lacey running, but we do not promise it will be available at any given moment. Connections drop, phones lock, microphones get denied, and a visit may fail to capture. Do not rely on it as your only record of a medically critical appointment.

10. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent the law allows, Laceyis provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, nor that any transcript or summary is accurate or complete.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither Healthcare Henry nor anyone working with us is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, or any harm arising from a medical decision made in reliance on the product. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.

Some states do not allow these limits, so some may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Indemnity

You agree to cover our costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your misuse of the product, your breach of these terms, or any claim that you recorded someone without the consent the law required.

13. Ending the agreement

You may delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, or that we reasonably believe is being used to record people unlawfully. Except where the law compels us to act immediately, we will give you notice and a chance to export your records first.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Healthcare Henry is organised, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing anything, email us at masonhenry1@gmail.com — we would genuinely rather fix the problem. If we cannot resolve it within 60 days, disputes go to the state or federal courts located there, and we each consent to that jurisdiction.

15. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will email you at least 30 days beforehand. Continuing to use Lacey after a change takes effect means you accept it; if you do not, cancel and export your records.

16. Everything else

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us. If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the rest survives. Our not enforcing something once does not waive it. You may not transfer this agreement; we may, to a successor of our business.
